Recently Joe Warren was a guest on the Jordan Breen Show. While discussing his training for his upset of Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, he dropped that his former Greco-Roman world teammate has been training with Urijah Faber’s Team Alpha Male in preparation for an August debut in the newly formed WEC 125-pound division.
The Greco-Roman wrestler was third in the 2008 Olympic trials, but prior to that Durlacher had made three straight world teams. In 2006, when Joe Warren captured his championship, Durlacher won a bronze medal at 121 pounds.
In college, Durlacher attended the University of Illinois where he was coached by Mark Johnson. He was a two-time all American with a second place finish in 1997.
When Durlacher steps into the cage in August it will not be his first MMA action. The wrestler is actually 2-1 with his only loss coming against bantamweight kingpin Miguel Torres in his debut back in 2... -*
