Primm fights out of Guardian MMA in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He will be looking to get back on track after losing to Krzysztof Soszynski last December. Dolce would like to keep the wins going as he lost six in a row before winning his last bout against Nuri Shakir at "WCF 6" back in March.
In the co-main event, The Ultimate Fighter season 5 contestant (and Cole Miller roommate) Blake Bowman (2-2) will face local product Dustin West. Bowman's last bout was a loss to Ryan Keenan at "Rumble in Race Town" back in February. West also fought in February with a submission win over Josh Lester at "SSF 6."
In addition to the professional mixed martial arts action, "Rock & Havoc" will feature performances from four different rock bands: Halo Stereo, The Motorflys, Newmatic, and November. The MC for the event will be Peyton Turner from the VH1 reality show "Rock of Love."
Music City MMA's "Rock & Havoc" will begin at 8pm on Sat., July 18, 2009 at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. Tickets for the event may be purchased through Ticketmaster. In possibly the highest profile fight of the night, Nathan "Carnage" Corbett knocked out Tyrone "King of the Ring" Spong in the third round. Spong could not get up to make the ten count, however, Corbett thought the referee waived the fight to go on and began to attack Spong with strikes. Because of this, the fight was ruled a "no contest." It seemed quite unfair to Corbett who had already technically won the fight.
It was announced during the event that Ray Sefo and Nathan Corbett will be the coaches on the Contender Asia Muay Thai Series 2 which will be filmed in Malaysia. It was also announced Duane "Bang" Ludwig will appear on the show.
It does not always happen that main events are the most exciting fights of the night but it is always a pleasure when it works out that way. The main event of "Champion of Champions 2" had the 6'6" maniac Patrice Quarteron out of France taking on Poland's Paul Slowinski for the World Muay Thai Championship Heavyweight Title.
In round 1 Quarteron came out of the gates like a wild man, fast and furious. His strikes were a bit wild while Slowinski looked more composed. Quarteron ate a shot that put him down early. He received a standing eight count and was allowed to continue.
Quarteron jumped up and came down with an elbow to the top of Slowinski's head that cut him and started the blood to trickle down his the back of his shaved head. However, Quarteron got caught with a punch and went down again.
Quarteron continued to fight with everything he had until the end of the round. He survived but clearly Slowinski was tearing him apart.
[caption id="attachment_21443" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Slowinski"][/caption]
As round 2 began, Slowinski landed a smashing leg kick that dropped Quarteron to the ground; he then received a standing eight count. The fight continued and Slowinski landed a huge right hand but Quarteron stood strong.
Then boom! Slowinski connected with a huge straight punch directly on the chin of Quarteron. The Frenchman fell flat to his back, out cold. Coincidentally, not only did it end the fight by cutting out Quarteron's lights, but my online stream went out at the same time -- perfect timing! And just like that, Paul Slowinski is the new World Muay Thai Championship Heavyweight Champion.

Headlining the card will be a heavyweight bout between Clarksville, Tenn.'s Johnathan Ivey *(38-21) and Louisville MMA's Ron "The Monster" Sparks, who comes in with an undefeated **7-0 record.
Ivey, while not boasting the best record, has fought many of the world's top heavyweights including UFC veterans Dan Severn, Ricco Rodriguez and Jake O'Brien just to name a few.
Ivey has fought in many well known promotions such as the XFC, King of the Cage, Hookn'Shoot and IVC, and is recognized as having a very unorthodox, but entertaining fighting style.
He last fought back in April when he appeared on HDNet's XFC 8: Regional Conflict card. Ivey lost a unanimous decision against the very athletic and big Chris Barnett, but showed great heart. His 23 submission victories shows he is a danger to anyone on the ground.
His opponent, Ron Sparks, is the current American Fight League Super Heavyweight Champion. He is a Louisville native and currently trains under the tutelage of Jason Y at Louisville MMA. Sparks has been featured on the cover of Tapout and MMA Worldwide magazines. With Ivey's experience and explosiveness, this fight should be Sparks' biggest test to date.
Scheduled to appear as special guests at "Maximum Impact" are former UFC Lightweight Champion and current WEC fighter Jens Pulver and TUF bad boy and UFC lightweight Junie Browning.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster with prices starting at $20 up to $75 for ringside seats. Fans can also visit www.revolutionfight.com for more information to the event.

In the "Lawler vs. Shields" post-fight press conference, in which Riggs was absent, Shields was asked how he felt about a potential match-up with Riggs. Shields responded candidly, saying Riggs did not even belong in the same cage as him. Shields is also quoted as saying in a recent interview, "Joe Riggs is of no concern to me, he's not even worth my time. I'm not even giving him the time of day."
Joe Riggs was a guest on this week's episode of Pro MMA Radio with host Larry Pepe and was asked his thoughts about Shields' comments. Riggs said, "F*ck him, I tried to be respectful to him, but f*ck him. If he's gonna go 85, then I'll go 85. I'll fight him for free. I just don't like him. He's a f*ck*ng nerd... Robbie stuck his head in the wrong place and got choked. I think Robbie would kick his ass 99 times out of 100. But he won, hat's off to him, he's tough, but... yeah, f*ck him. He wants to talk sh*t like that."
Riggs goes on to talk about such topics as squashing the beef he used to have with Matt Hughes, not wanting to fight Nick Diaz unless it is for a title, and crapping his pants when he got into a fight with Diaz in a hospital. Riggs also discusses the now legendary story of how he was supposed to fight Kimbo Slice in a street fight for $50,000.
To hear the interview with Joe Riggs, plus a recap of UFC 99 and more, listen to episode 51 of Pro MMA Radio with host Larry Pepe. Pro MMA Radio airs every Monday evening at 6pm PT/9pm ET.

With two submissions and one TKO, the preliminary fights actually had more finishes than the main card. Four of the five fights on the main card went to the judges for decision.
The most controversial decision of the night had to be Melvin Guillard's split decision win over Gleison Tibau. While Guillard seemed to have the advantage on the feet and landed some good shots, Tibau repeatedly took him to the ground, maintained more control, and dealt out some ground and pound. However, there is the old saying, "If you let it go to the judges, there is no one to blame but yourself."
Let us know if you agree with the judges and who you think should get the decision...

Joe Stevenson vs. Nate Diaz, Chris Lytle vs. Kevin Burns, and Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida won the three fight of the night awards, netting each fighter a well-deserved $25,000 bonus.
The other two bonuses for knockout and submission of the night were both earned on the non-televised undercard. Jason Dent was given submission of the night for his win over fellow TUF 9 castmate Cameron Dollar via anaconda choke. The knockout of the night was given to Tomasz Drwal, who had the only TKO stoppage of the evening over Mike Ciesnolevicz in the first round.
The Ultimate Fighter 9 finale reportedly drew a sell-out crowd of just over 1,800, grossing approximately $500,000 from the live gate. With the three "Fights of the Night" combined with the KO and Submission of the night awards, the UFC shelled out a total of $200,000 in bonus money.

Diego Sanchez -300 vs. Clay Guida +220
Sanchez is looked at as the favorite just as most of us here at PRO MMA (promma.info) agreed on in our staff picks. Of course it is possible Guida could pull off a decision but it is highly unlikely given Sanchez's wrestling, stand up skills, focus, and the fact he has just come down to lightweight recently from spending most of his career at welterweight.
Things get really interesting though when you start looking at the various prop bets on this fight:
Fight goes distance -160 / Fight won't go distance +120
Guida wins in round 1 +1000 / Any other result -2500
Guida wins in round 2 +1100 / Any other result -3000
Guida wins in round 3 +1200 / Any other result -4000
Sanchez wins in round 1 +650 / Any other result -1000
Sanchez wins in round 2 +700 / Any other result -1200
Sanchez wins in round 3 +700 / Any other result -1200
As you can see, the odds are really in favor of this fight going the distance with Sanchez as the winner. However, if you have any inclination or inside info that would lead you to believe Guida may win, then you should bet on him. However, you must realize you are in the minority.
The best bets in this fight are if you think either Sanchez or Guida can finish the fight. Even if you pick the favorite, Sanchez, to finish the fight in any round you stand to make some good money. $100 bucks on Sanchez to finish the fight in round 1 will get you $650 in return. $100 bucks on Sanchez to finish in rounds 2 or 3, then you get $700 in return. You have to pick the round. If you put a $100 on each round, you are gauranteed a win if Sanchez can finish, and even though the PRO MMA (promma.info) staff picked the fight to go to decision, we could be wrong, stranger things have happened.
The other fight lines are pretty straight up.
Nate Diaz -165 vs. Joe Stevenson +135
Chris Lytle -260 vs. Kevin Burns +200
“The Ultimate Fighter 9” Lightweight Final
Andre Winner -220 vs. Ross Pearson +175
“The Ultimate Fighter 9” Welterweight Final
Damarques Johnson -350 vs. James Wilks +250
Melvin Guillard +200 vs. Gleison Tibau -260
Edgar Garcia EVEN vs. Brad Blackburn -130
Tomasz Drwal -105 vs. Mike Ciesnolevicz -125
Frank Lester +190 vs. Nick Osipczak -240
Cameron Dollar +200 vs. Jason Dent -260
The first fight that sticks out to me is Melvin Guillard vs. Gleison Tibaou. Guillard can finish anyone if he is prepared and in the right frame of mind. The guy is so athletic, explosive, and dangerous.
Unfortunately for him, Tibau is a submission wizard, which is where six of Guillard's seven losses have come from. Having said that, Guillard can end anyone's night if he connects with a shot and there is always that chance he could KO Tibau. Could be worth the risk.
The other fight that sticks out is Frank Lester vs. Nick Osipczak. As apathetic as I was toward this season's The Ultimate Fighter, Frank Lester did impress me with his heart. Even though he didn't make the TUF 9 finals, he fought four times in just over a month on the show and he is fighting on this card so obviously Dana saw something in him too.
All in all, the prop bets, maybe the Guillard fight, and maybe some of the TUF 9 contestant fights (if you are familiar with those guys) seem to be the best bets on this card. Of course these are just my opinions. Let me know what you think.

As has become our custom for most UFC events and large fight cards, the PRO MMA (promma.info) staff has submitted their predictions. So check out our picks, see if you agree or disagree, let us know who is on the money, and who is off in left field.
Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida
Jeff: Diego wins by decision. Sanchez is a monster at 155 lbs. and is so focused, I don't see Guida derailing the Nightmare in this one.
Denny: Guida has been grinding out some tough victories of late, but I believe that Diego is going to be too much for him. I see Diego dominating the stand up, and shrugging off Guida's smothering style en route to a unanimous decision victory.
Dusty: I think Sanchez is just a little better at everything than Guida who always brings a tough fight. Sanchez by unanimous decision.
Jack: Diego's wrestling is too good in my opinion for Guida to do what he did against Nate Diaz. Most people hate that style Guida used against Diaz of holding him and grinding the fight to a halt. It is a very un-fan-friendly way to win, but the judges seem to reward it. But he will try it, make no mistake. It's the only thing he could possibly do to Sanchez. Sanchez will tear him up on the feet. Guida will desperately try the same tactic of holding and lay and pray but it won't work against Diego is my prediction. I do think Clay is too crafty to get stopped so I see it going the distance and Diego wins by unanimous decision. For some reason, my hope is that Diego could catch him with something and get a KO.
Tim: Guida because he has superior wrestling to Diego and I would even say they are close in striking. If Nate Diaz can't submit Guida then neither can Sanchez. Guida is more hungry so he will come out on top.
DaMarques Johnson vs. James Wilks
Jeff: Johnson wins via TKO in round 1. Wilks has a good ground game, but was caught by Lester in their first fight. Johnson is a lot more skilled than Lester and should make short work of Wilks.
Denny: Everybody has been waiting for the match up between Damarques Johnson and James Wilks. It could have happened in the semi's, but Dana was holding out for this to be the finals match up and he got it. There is bad blood between the two, but I see this being more one-sided than most people. Wilks is dangerous on the ground, but Johnson will be bringing the heat and will likely be in top position dropping bombs on Wilks. Johnson has superior wrestling skills and should have no trouble getting this to the ground, which is where Wilks is comfortable. Johnson will be too much in this one and will earn his contract by ground and pound TKO in Round 2.
Dusty: I like Johnson a lot and he seems the more motivated one. If Wilks could get him down he has a real good chance of submitting him, however I don't see him taking Johnson down. Johnson by KO 2nd round.
Jack: I'm going with DaMarques Johnson just because I think he is the better athlete. Truthfully though, it's just a guess cause I can't even remember his fights on the show, but he looks more athletic in the photos.
Tim: Johnson is another fighter who showed amazing upside. He has to deal with a bigger fighter in Wilks but it seems he was one of the most dedicated and most serious fighters in the house.
Chris Lytle vs. Kevin Burns
Jeff: Lytle is too experienced for Burns and will choke him out in the second round.
Denny: Burns and Lytle. Two guys that are likely going to stand and bang. This should be exciting. Lytle always brings all he's got when he steps in the Octagon. Burns is coming off a devastating KO at the last Ultimate Fighter Finale, and may be hesitant to stay in the pocket with Lytle... oh hell, no he won't. I have to go with Lytle edging out a decision victory over Burns.
Dusty: This could be fight of the night to me. Lytle is always willing to throw with anyone and Burns doesn't back down either. Lytle by TKO
Jack: I'm taking Lytle. With only nine professional fights I don't think Burns is ready for someone as experienced and as solid as Chris Lytle. Lytle has turned into somewhat of a gatekeeper and the gate is closing on Burns tonight. Second round TKO.
Tim: Lytle is one of the most experienced and explosive fighters in the UFC. When he fights you know two things. You are definitely going to see some leather thrown and there is a strong possibility his fight will be the Fight of the Night.
Ross Pearson vs. Andre Winner
Jeff: Pearson looks to be the better of these two Brits. I have the fight going the distance with Pearson getting the unanimous decision.
Denny: Either way, we will have a U.K. fighter as the next lightweight Ultimate Fighter, but Pearson stands out in this match-up in my opinion. He's a very fast starter with 8 of his 11 fights ending in the first round, while Winner tends to start more slowly, with most of his fights going to decision. Pearson is a tough kid, and will overwhelm Winner via submission in Round 2 on his way to the UFC contract.
Dusty: Andre is just too athletic and technically better for Pearson to handle for three rounds. Andre Winner is the winner by TKO in the 3rd round.
Jack: I'm taking Andre Winner because Bet U.S. says he is the odds favorite. Truthfully I was so uninspired by this season of TUF, I could care less... just being honest.
Tim: Pearson showed more skills on TUF then maybe anyone else. A tough kid who I think will find a great camp after he wins TUF and go on to be great.
Joe Stevenson vs. Nate Diaz
Jeff: Both guys are likeable and both are coming off of losses. If either of them were to be in a "must win" situation, I would have to say its definitely Stevenson. With that said, I foresee a decent back and forth fight with Diaz sinking in a sneaky choke mid-way in the third round for the victory.
Denny: Will Stevenson come in to this fight with Diaz and show us something new? If not he's in trouble. He's got a a great guillotine choke, but you are not going to catch a Diaz with a one dimensional attack. Diaz will win the war standing up and when Stevenson takes the fight to the ground, Diaz will finish him there. Diaz by submission in Round 3.
Dusty: I like Joe's strength against Diaz and I could see him getting a takedown early, but I don't see him doing much with it. Diaz will use his reach to win the standup and defend Joe's shot and win a decision.
Jack: Nate Diaz by unanimous decision. I'm not sure if Nate will be able to stop Joe unless he hurts him enough to choke him out. But I do see him picking him apart standing up with his long reach and on the ground he's too good to get caught in anything Joe may throw. The only advantage Joe has is in wrestling but I don't see Joe being able to finish Nate in any way.
Tim: Diaz is one of those fighters who improve with every fight. His last fight with Guida he was flat out over-powered and it was still a close fight. Stevenson is going to be ready after losing two straight but the fact of the matter is the Diaz brothers both hate to lose and there is no way Stevenson will catch Diaz in his patented guillot... -*

In the middleweight finals, Hector Lombard dominated Jared Hess with solid stand up and takedown defense until finally opening a cut on Hess that ultimately led to a TKO doctor stoppage in round 4, making Lombard the new Bellator Middleweight Champion.
It the lightweight finals it was Eddie Alvarez vs. Toby Imada. Although over half of Toby Imada's 22 wins have come by submission, including a "submission of the year candidate," over Jorge Masvidal in his last fight, Eddie Alvarez showed he also has a dangerous ground game. After dropping Imada with a right hand, Alvarez took his back, sunk in a rear-naked choke and forced Imada to tap out just thirty-eight seconds into round two, securing his place as the Bellator Lightweight Champion.

After Cyborg weighed in for their 185-pound fight at 184 ½ pounds and Villasenor 185 pounds, both fighters met face to face. Things got a little too close for comfort and Cyborg pressed his head hard against Villasenor who then pushed back before words were exchanged. At one point, Cyborg pushed Villasenor by the throat before both fighters had to be separated.

Other bouts on SHOWTIME: Cory “The One” Devela of Bonney Lake, Wash., faces Luke Rockhold of Santa Cruz, Calif. (middleweights), Sarah Kaufman of Victoria, Canada, takes on Shayna “The Queen Of Spades’’ Baszler of Sioux Falls, S.D., in a 135-pound women’s fight and Jorge Gurgel of Cincinnati, Ohio, will collide with Conor “Hurricane’’ Heun of Boulder, Colo., in a 155-pound scrap.
ShoWare Center doors will open for the Strikeforce Challengers event at 5:30 p.m. PT.
What the fighters said Thursday and their final weights:
“SMOKIN” JOE VILLASENOR – 184 ½ lbs.
“I’m feeling incredible right now. I think this fight will be all about momentum. After this fight everyone will know what I’m capable of.”
EVANGELISTA CYBORG – 185 lbs.
“Come Friday night, I will show that I deserve this: the main event. It’s very cool to be the main event. It’s going to be a good fight and I think everyone will know me when we’re all done. I have respect for my opponent. He has good boxing skill, good wrestling skill … but he’s not great at one thing. He’s good at a lot of things, but not great. I will win.”
TIM KENNEDY – 184 lbs.
“I’ve got a huge Army following and am fighting out of Fort Bragg (Fayetteville, N.C.). I think it was very big of Nick to take this fight. I’ve been away from the game for awhile (he’s currently a Special Forces sniper serving in the Army). I’m sure he isn’t happy seeing me on the other side of the cage. This is fun. This is the good stuff. It beats getting shot at.”
NICK “THE GOAT” THOMPSON – 185 lbs.
“This was the fight they offered me so I’ll take it. I don’t like fighting at 185. I hate it. I want to just do this and go back to 170.
“When you get a guy as technically sound as Tim it’s going to be dangerous.
“A loss here will definitely set me back. They don’t offer title fights to guys coming off a loss.
This is fun. To get paid to fight is so much fun. I like to have fun in the ring. Not that I don’t take it seriously but I like to goof around a bit.”
JORGE GURGEL – 157 ½ lbs.
“I have never felt this good before. I never get nervous. But I never felt this good in UFC. I have put no pressure on myself. I guess I’m a late bloomer. I’ve never felt this great before and my cutting weight has been great. I’m having fun and having a great time out here. He’s a green fighter. I want to keep him standing up.”
CONOR “HURRICAINE” HEUN – 158 ½ lbs.
“I haven’t fought an MMA match since October so I’m hungry. You’re in danger when you step in the cage with me. My cardio is absolutely impeccable. I’ll fight the fight wherever he wants it to go. It’s going to be beautiful. I hope everyone enjoys it.
“Having fun on Friday night would be looking into his (Gurgel’s) eyes and knowing he’s outclassed. I don’t go to church. Going into the cage is like my church.”
SARAH KAUFMAN – 134 lbs.
“She’s going to try and go for things that you don’t really expect. She’s going to jump into some things that you don’t really see a lot of. So I’ll be looking for that.
“It’s a positive for me that I just fought last month (May 15; a win over Miesha Tate). It’s hard to peak so many times but I’d rather take this fight than not. I think as long as you’re trained and you’re not injured then you should always take the fight.
“I love the five-minute rounds. It’s going to be awesome. I would go10-minute rounds if I could. I get better as the round goes longer. I push the pace and my opponents hate it.”
SHAYNA “THE QUEEN OF SPADES” BASZLER – 134 ½ lbs.
“I learned overtraining didn’t work for me (in a previous loss to Cris Cyborg). I learned mental exhaustion translates into physical exhaustion. At this training camp I had a deal with my roommates that once I got home there was no talking about the fight.
“I think Sarah has a pretty aggressive style and she’s confident that it works. The biggest challenge is we know each other too well. And not because, ‘Oh, I don’t want to fight my friend,’ but just strategically. She knows I’m going to want to take her to the ground and I know she’s going to want to stand and punch me in the face.
“I wish they had a stat on how many times people hit rewind on their DVR. I’d win that one for sure.
“Sarah is very good but she’s very predictable.”
CORY “THE ONE” DEVELA – 184 lbs.
He’s the only Washington state resident on the televised bout from Bonney Lake, Wash., about 45 miles from Seattle.
“I get more frustrated with getting all my friends and family tickets than I do training for this fight. I’ll have like 150 to 200 people at the fight.
“I think the ref is going to stop it. I predict middle second round. I couldn’t find much on (Luke) Rockhold but I’m ready for anything.”
LUKE ROCKHOLD – 183 ½ lbs.
“I know Cory’s going to be tough. He’s not the most technical striker but I know he likes to throw.
“It should be an all-around tough fight. I believe all around I have better range and am more fine-tuned than he is.
“I’m long and strong and flexible and not a lot of fighters are like that. So I cause problems for people. I have the strength to do things people don’t expect from me.”

Some of the greatest TV series of all time did not last as long as TUF. What I consider to be the best TV series ever, The Sopranos, only went through season six. The Wire only went five. Hell, the Brady Bunch only lasted five seasons.
For a series to go nine full seasons is nothing short of spectacular; and it is not done yet, which is even more remarkable for several reasons, not the least of which is arguably how stale the show has become.
I missed an episode or two or three this season and it did not bother me in the least; something that would not have happened a few seasons ago.
Honestly, the last season I was really into was season six when Mac Danzig won. Something seemed to have changed following that season. Whether it be the personalities of the fighters or the level of competition, I'm not sure. It just seems something is missing.
Having said that, I'm really looking forward to season 10 with the heavyweights. For one thing, I have always loved watching heavyweights fight. On top of that, there are quite a few well known fighters competing.
It is more appealing when there are fighters on the show that people are familiar with. Many of the competitors on TUF 10 already have made at least somewhat of a name for themselves, and it is exciting to think how these big guys are going to match up with one another.
Make no mistake, Kimbo Slice appearing on The Ultimate Fighter season 10 is huge. People are still curious about this guy. Could Kimbo possibly win the whole show and get a six-figure contract with the UFC? Will he fight in the UFC even if he fails to win TUF? There are lots of questions to be answered.
To summarize, I am glad we are done with TUF 9, and TUF 8 and TUF 7 for that matter. Let's move on to the heavyweights. It has been a long time coming.
By the way, Justin Wren is my pick to win TUF 10.

PRO MMA (promma.info) will be providing live round-by-round updates and results throughout the event.
Fighting for a six-figure UFC contract will be The Ultimate Fighter season 9 welterweight finalists DaMarques Johnson (13-6) and James Wilks (5-2).
Wilks, from Team U.K., defeated Frank Lester in the final episode of TUF 9 this past Wednesday to earn his spot in the finals. DaMarques Johnson is the lone fighter from Team U.S. to earn a spot in the finals.
The lightweight finalists, both from Team U.K., are Ross Pearson (9-3) and Andre Winner (9-2-1). Pearson, who used to work as a bricklayer, holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a brown belt in Judo. Fans will remember Winner as the adult thumb sucker on the show.
Headlining the event is what should prove to be an intense, action-packed bout between Clay "The Carpenter" Guida (25-9) and Diego "The Nightmare" Sanchez (20-2).
It will be Diego's second fight at lightweight after defeating Joe "Daddy" Stevenson in February. Diego is on a three-fight win streak. Guida is also on a three-fight win streak, most recently defeating Nate Diaz via split decision in January.
What is interesting is both Guida and Sanchez's last opponents, Stevenson and Diaz, will themselves be facing each other on this card as well; Nate Diaz (10-3) will fight Joe Stevenson (29-10) in a lightweight showdown to see who will be the first to get back on the winning track.
Stevenson, who has now dropped two in a row, is in need of a win more than Diaz He lost to Kenny Florian at UFC 91 and then Guida at UFC 95. One more loss for Stevenson and his five year career in the UFC could come to an end.
The Ultimate Fighter season 5 winner, Nate Diaz, was unbeaten in the UFC, on a beautiful five-fight win streak, until he was out-worked by Guida in his last bout. The Cesar Gracie protogé has never lost two bouts in a row and does not plan to start against Stevenson.
Diaz's long reach and superb ground game will make for an interesting match-up against Stevenson's wrestling and power. If Diaz could defeat Stevenson it would be a huge feather in his cap and the biggest win of his career.
Chris Lytle (26-17-5) is back after losing to Marcus Davis in January. Lytle is one of the toughest and most exciting fighters you will ever see but the guy really needs a win. He has not won more than two fights in a row since 2004.
Four other fighters from The Ultimate Fighter season 9 have found their way onto the finale. Jason Dent (18-9) vs. Cameron Dollar (2-1) and Frank Lester (3-2) vs. Nick Osipczak (3-0) will be on the preliminary portion of the card.
Dollar, Dent, and Lester were all part of Team U.S. coached by Dan Henderson and Osipczak was on Team U.K. coached by Michael Bisping. So, if you total up all the TUF 9 fighters competing on Saturday there are 4 from Team U.S. and 4 from Team U.K.
Stay tuned to PRO MMA (promma.info) as we will be providing a LIVE FEED of the weigh-ins on Friday as well as the live results and play-by-play during the event on Saturday.

Replacing Goulet in the preliminary bout will be fellow Canadian T.J. Grant (14-2) who will be making his second Octagon appearance. Grant's UFC debut came back in April when he defeated PRIDE veteran Ryo Chonan (15-10) via split decision at UFC 97.
A purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, 25-year-old T.J. Grant will be facing the toughest opponent of his career when he goes up against the "Stun Gun." A fourth-degree Judo black belt from South Korea, Kim is undefeated inside and outside the Octagon.
Kim's first UFC bout was in May 2008 and he dispatched Jason Tan (5-3) via TKO. Four months later, he took out the very tough Matt Brown (9-7) via split decision, and in January had a fight with Karo Parisyan (18-5) which although Parisyan originally won by decision, was later overturned and ruled a "no contest" after Parisyan tested positive for pain killers.
UFC 100 will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 11th. Although sold out, the event will be available live on Pay-Per-View on iN DEMAND, DIRECTV, DISH Network, TVN, BellTV, Shaw Communications and Viewer’s Choice Canada for a suggested retail price of $44.95 for standard definition or high-definition broadcasts (where available)..

Headlining the event will be the Bellator Lightweight and Middleweight Championship fights. The lightweight title fight features Philadelphia Fight Factory's Eddie Alvarez taking on submission-of-the-year candidate Toby Imada,
In the Middleweight title fight, former Olympic Judoka Hector Lombard will face off against the Oklahoma All-American wrestler Jared Hess.
Winners of each championship fight will receive $100,000 in grand prize money, not to mention the $50,000 they won in the semi-finals, and the $25,000 they won in the quarter-finals; not bad jack for a 12-week tournament.
Bellator Fighting Championships CEO Bjorn Rebney spoke about Bellator's inaugural season winding down, “Our first season has proven that magical things can happen when fighters are allowed to control their own destiny. As a fan of this spectacular sport it’s been my great pleasure to sit cageside week after week and watch these amazing moments happen over and over again.”
The broadcast event will be featured exclusively in primetime on ESPN Deportes on Saturday, June 20th, with the English language event available Wendsday, June 25th at Bellator.com.
There will also be a number of non-championship fights taking place at "Bellator XII," including two women's bouts, featuring such notable names as Jorge Masvidal, Troy Gerhart, Luis Palomino, Rosie Sexton, and Eric Reynolds. Here is the full card line-up:
Lightweight World Championship Final Bout:
155 lbs. – Eddie Alvarez (17-2) vs. Toby Imada (22-12)
Middleweight World Championship Final Bout:
185 lbs. – Hector Lombard (20-2) vs. Jared Hess (8-0-1)
Non-Tournament Bouts:

155 lbs. – Troy Gerhart (5-0) vs. Luis Palomino (10-5)
140 lbs. – Jennifer Kloptsoff (Pro Debut) vs. Stephanie Guimaraes (0-1)
Tournament contestants in Bellator's second season will be competing for number one contender status. Season two winners will face the Bellator Champions that were decided in season one. It really is nice to see a system where skill and ability are rewarded, popularity has nothing to do with it, and the champions are the ones who earn their spot.

The final bout of the season is a rematch between Team U.K.'s James Wilks and Frank Lester from Team U.S. The winner gets to fight Team U.S.'s Damarques Johnson this Saturday, June 20, at The Ultimate Fighter season 9 Finale in Las Vegas for a highly coveted six-figure contract with the UFC.
Both fighters weighed in at 171 lbs. and are ready to go...
James Wilks vs. Frank Lester
Round 1 - They exchange punches and Lester takes a low kick to the groin. Lester with a leg kick. Wilks fires back with his own leg kick and a couple of punches. Hendo tells Lester to keep pumping the jab which he does a few times but then stops. Leg kick from Lester. Left hand from Lester. Right leg kick by Wilks. Left hook Lester. Nice leg kick from Lester. Nice left hand by Wilks. Inside leg kick from Wilks. Wilks shoots, grabs a single but lets it go, they clinch against the cage. Left hand from Lester. Wilks goes for a takedown but can't get it. Clinched again. Wilks tries to drag Lester to the canvas but can't get it. They separate and Wilks makes Lester eat a couple of good punches, Lester swings wildly and misses. Hendo tells Frank Lester it was close but he won the round. I have to agree. PRO MMA scores the round for Frank Lester 10-9.
Round 2 - Lester kicks Wilks in the groin as the round starts. There is a time out. Lester uses his jab to start. Nice head kick connects from Wilks. Right hand from Lester but he eats a left hand right after. Bisping yells out that Lester is hurt but he appears to be OK. Front kick from Wilks. Overhand right by Lester connects. Wilks shoots and they clinch against the cage. Wilks tries to trip Lester to the canvas but no dice. They separate and Wilks lands a couple of jabs and a hard leg kick. Nice left from Lester followed by a leg kick. Lester's nose is a bit bloody. Big head kick from Wilks rocks Lester. Lester shoots and grabs a single. He's holding him as Hendo yells instructions. Wilks grabs the plum and lands some big knees to the head. They separate and square off and exchange some shots when the bell sounds. PRO MMA scores that one for Wilks, winning that round 10-9.
Round 3 - Leg kick by Wilks. Lester swings for air with a big hook. Connects with a leg kick. Hendo keeps telling Lester to be first. But Wilks lands a big shot and a knee to the head. Wilks goes for the takedown but no dice. Wilks escapes the clinch and fires off some punches that graze Wilks. Wilks grabs the plum and throws a knee. They clinch and Wilks continues with knee attacks. Wilks grabs half a plum and puts a big knee to Lester's head that drops him. He follows it up with some shots and Lester is done. Referee Herb Dean stops it. James Wilks defeats Frank Lester by TKO in round 3.
After the fight, UFC President Dana White says, "What we found out is James Wilks is the better fighter without a doubt, but Frank Lester is one of the toughest son of a bitches I have ever met."
Frank Lester fought four times in 34 days and said he was drained mentally, physically, and spiritually. He said he learned a lot and came out the better man for doing the show.
Team U.K.'s James Wilks will fight Damarques Johnson from Team U.S. at welterweight this Saturday, June 20, 2009 in The Ultimate Fighter season 9 Finale, which takes place at the Palms in Las Vegas and airs on Spike TV.
The lightweights from TUF 9 who will be fighting in the Finale are both from Team U.K. It will be Ross Pearson vs. Andre Winner.
And for the final thought of TUF season 9, we leave you with this... Dan Henderson said, "Michael Bisping is, for lack of a better word, a douche bag." Guess that about sums it up.

Until now, three-minute rounds were the norm for most female fights in the United States. Strikeforce Rules Director Cory Schafer explained where the three-minute rounds for women came from, "...limiting each round to three minutes in duration was designed (by state athletic commissions) as a safety measure for the protection of less experienced fighters, with no designation for gender. It was never intended as a gender bias against female professionals…”
Schafer also talked about the importance of longer rounds when it comes to fighters' strategy, “Use of this standard will level the playing field for (the) female athletes in providing them with the time necessary to develop and execute their striking and grappling strategies in each round.”
The ladies have been clamoring for five-minute rounds for a long time and finally they will get their wish. This Friday, June 19, Shayna Baszler (9-5) will take on Sarah Kaufman (8-0) at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington as part of the Strikeforce Challengers event which will air on Showtime. They will be the first women who get to take advantage of the new extended time limit.
Kaufman spoke about this milestone for women's MMA, "This is a great opportunity for Shayna (Baszler) and me to have this happen before our fight. I am always ready to go five-minute rounds and I know Shayna will also be ready. More importantly, this is long-awaited recognition that we are competing at the highest level of the sport.”
The next female MMA bout who will get to the opportunity to fight with Strikeforce's new five-minute rounds will actually be the most anticipated female fight in MMA history, Gina "Conviction" Carano (7-0) vs. Cris "Cyborg" Santos (7-1).
"Carano vs. Santos", which will take place on August 15, will be for the very first Strikeforce Women's Championship and will have a time limit of five, five-minute rounds. Not only that, but it will be the first ever female MMA fight to headline a major fight card (filled with men). "Strikeforce: Carano vs. Santos" will air live on Showtime from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
Carano spoke about the standard Strikeforce is setting for women's MMA, “It is great that the largest stage females have in MMA is setting a solid foundation in implementing five-minute rounds. I feel Strikeforce is taking female fighters seriously, which means we will be seeing some amazing fights in the future and I am honored to be a part of it.”

With an outstanding 9-1 record in the UFC (22-3, 1 NC overall) and coming off an impressive win against Akihiro Gono in his last fight, Jon Fitch (fighting out of San Jose, Calif.) is one of the toughest fighters the welterweight division has to offer. With wins over Thiago Alves, Diego Sanchez, Brock Larson and Luigi Fioravanti, the Ft. Wayne, Indiana native has dominated the competition and looks to one day hold that UFC welterweight strap. Standing in his way is the undefeated Paulo Thiago (fighting out of Brasilia, Brazil). The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt improved his professional mixed martial arts record to 11-0 when he defeated Josh Koscheck by TKO in the first round of their February match. He gets another true test when he faces Koscheck’s teammate at UFC 100.
A middleweight superstar who made his name overseas, Yoshihiro Akiyama (fighting out of Osaka, Japan) is a decorated judo black belt with dangerous knockout power and a 12-1, 2 NC mixed martial arts record. He’ll make his long-awaited UFC debut against MMA veteran Alan Belcher (fighting out of Biloxi, Mississippi). With seven career UFC wins, the 44-year-old looks to stir things up in the light heavyweight division, and if there’s another fighter that knows how to put on a great show it’s Stephan Bonnar (fighting out of Las Vegas, Nev.). A fighter that will be remembered forever for his epic battle with Forrest Griffin in the original The Ultimate Fighter® finale, The Munster, Indiana born fighter has notable wins over Keith Jardine, Eric Schafer and James Irvin.
Season six winner of The Ultimate Fighter, Mac Danzig (fighting out of Las Vegas, Nev.) has two submission victories as a UFC fighter and the Cleveland, Ohio native will have his greatest test to date when he faces Sparta, New Jersey native Jim Miller (fighting out of Whippany, N.J.). The Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt has two UFC wins, including a submission victory over David Baron in his lightweight debut.
If one wanted to watch a rising star in the UFC’s light heavyweight division, look no further than Rochester, New York born Jon Jones (fighting out of Endicott, N.Y.). The undefeated 21-year-old earned an exciting unanimous decision victory against UFC veteran Stephan Bonnar in his last fight, winning his second UFC match and keeping his professional record perfect at 8-0. Now Jones turns his attention to former heavyweight Jake O’Brien (fighting out of Indianapolis, Ind.). The former Purdue wrestler and three-time high school state champion earned a split decision victory against Christian Wellisch in his last fight.
With two UFC wins already on his resume, Dong Hyun Kim (fighting out of Busan, Korea) brings plenty of excitement to the UFC welterweight division. With a memorable match against Karo Parisyan and wins over Matt Brown and Jason Tan, the 27-year-old judo black belt will be an interesting matchup for Canadian striker Jonathan Goulet (Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada). The 29-year-old has four wins in the UFC, including two TKOs and one submission.
Currently on a two-fight win streak, former The Ultimate Fighter Season 7 finalist CB Dollaway (fighting out of Tempe, Ariz.) has finished his last two fights within one round. Now the Mt.
