[Blog] 2009 US Grappling World Team Trials announ...: USA Wrestling has announced the date and location for the 2009 Grappling World Team Trials. The trials will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona on October 22-24. The tournament will be held in conjunction with Sunkist Kids international wrestling tournament.

The winners will represent the United States in the 2009 world championships, which will take place at the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on December 12-13. The tournament will be in an open format, and will include both Gi and No-Gi competition.

Last year's US grappling team, containing MMA fighters like Jeff Monson, Jacob Volkman, and Meisha Tate, was extremely successful winning eight individual gold medals. They will look to build upon their success with new coach and ATT monarch Ricardo Lib... -*
