[Blog] Ray Mercer stops Tim Sylvia in 10 seco...: In perhaps one of the biggest upsets of the year 48 year-old professional boxer, Ray Mercer, knocked out perennial top ten MMA fighter Tim Sylvia in the main event of Adrenaline 3. Mercer countered a leg kick and dropped the former UFC champion with an overhand right a mere 10 seconds into the bout.

Originally planned as a boxing match, the fight was switched to MMA rules at the last minute due to sanctioning problems. Many assumed the change would benefit Sylvia, but it was not to be. The fight was Mercer's official professional debut. He had previously been submitted by Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson in an MMA exhibition bout.

A bout between Sylvia, who weighed in for Saturday's bout at an astounding 310 pounds, and Paul Buentello had been announced by Affliction for their August 1st card. There is no word yet on the status of this fi... -*
